What is this book about?

This Grade 11 English textbook for upper secondary students is organised in chapters of short units built around reading passages, dialogues and listening tasks. The units include ASEAN, on the history and membership of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations; Letter to Malaysia and Arranging a Trip, which follow Monica's plans for a working trip to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand; and Community Development, a dialogue about farmers sharing water pumps and coping with floods. Later units deal with advertisements and job announcements, ending in a letter of application, an interview with the footballer Kao Nisai, and a reading on the history of Phnom Penh. Each unit moves from talking about pictures to true/false tasks, comprehension questions, grammar practice such as joining sentences with which, where and when, and pair discussion. The book has 115 pages and can be read online and downloaded free of charge.
