The four-point probe method is the standard technique for precisely measuring the electrical conductivity of semiconductor thin films such as polypyrrole (Ppy); however, commercial probe stations and electrometers are typically too expensive or complex for classroom laboratory instruction. In this work, an inexpensive, convenient, handmade conductivity measurement device was developed and tested for educational use. The device enables students to reliably determine the electrical conductivity of polypyrrole thin films, providing practical hands-on experience in semiconductor materials and polymer chemistry in high school and introductory undergraduate settings.
