What is this book about?

English Grade 8 is the Student's Book for Grade 8 English in Cambodian lower secondary schools, published with the permission of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS). Its preface explains that it was funded by The Nippon Foundation, written by the Australian Center for Education, organised by the Education Support Center KIZUNA and led by Professor Stephen Bax. Set at CEFR level A1 and created in line with the MoEYS syllabus, it opens with a review and continues through units such as A new classmate, Travelling to grandma's, Yum, yum, yum!, Traditional temples and pagodas, What's the time? and Transport choices. Pupils practise routines, adverbs, count and uncount nouns, comparatives and future plans through stories set in Cambodian life, using all four skills with a slight emphasis on oral work. The book has 242 pages and can be read online and downloaded free of charge.
