What is this book about?
Accreditation Protocols is a guidance document on accrediting New Generation Schools (NGS), an initiative the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport supports as a new way of investing in public schools. It explains the link between accreditation and investment and why the Accreditation Subcommittee must work with independence, impartiality and flexibility. Later sections set out committee membership and a step-by-step procedure, from identifying subcommittee members and planning data collection for each of the 20 NGS Accreditation Criteria to presenting the final report to the NGS Oversight Board, together with the forms for awarding or withdrawing a certificate. An annex summarises the standards, such as abolishing private tutoring, more instruction hours, a 21st Century Library and ICT and science labs. School managers and accreditation officers can use it as a working reference. It has 31 pages and can be downloaded free of charge.
