What is this book about?

This Grade 4 English textbook for primary pupils was prepared by the English language committee of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. According to its preface, it has 8 units and 32 lessons that introduce basic listening, speaking, reading and writing in the everyday contexts of family, school and community. The units are Greetings, Things, Animals, Nationalities, How Many...?, Jobs, Family and Daily Activities, and each unit closes with a review lesson. Lessons combine short dialogues and pictures with listen-and-say practice, pair work, matching words to pictures and completing simple model sentences. Appendixes at the back cover basic grammar, abbreviations, English sounds and a glossary for self-study. The book has 145 pages and can be read online and downloaded free of charge.
