Grade 5 English is a primary-school English textbook published with the permission of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport; this copy is the sixth printing, from 2020. Its six chapters and 34 lessons are Shops And Shopping, Farms And Farming, School And Family, Buying, Magic 'e', and The Weather, with units such as Selling Food, Animals On The Farm, Family Members, Hundreds and The Rainy Season. Each unit sets out a language function, sentence forms and vocabulary, then moves through listening and repeating, spelling words with a partner, reading, speaking and writing practice. According to the preface, the author committee prepared the book after training at SEAMEO RELC in Singapore, and the back of the book adds basic grammar and a glossary for pupils' self-study. The book runs to 149 pages and can be read online and downloaded free of charge.
