English is Fun Book 1 is a beginner English coursebook, filed in this library for Grade 7. According to its foreword, it was made by The Nippon Foundation with the Education Support Center KIZUNA as a companion to their English radio programmes. It opens with alphabet and handwriting practice, then follows two characters, Tom and Devi, through 20 short units on greetings, saying where you are from, family, jobs, age, phone numbers, telling the time and asking prices, with regular review units. Each unit presents key words and phrases with Khmer translations, a short conversation and practice exercises: putting words in order, filling gaps and translating sentences into Khmer. A word search, a word list and the collected conversations close the book. Pupils can use it for self-study alongside the radio lessons, and teachers for simple speaking practice. It can be read online and downloaded free of charge.
