Guide Book for Unplugged Computational Thinking is a guidebook for primary school teachers, published by the SEAMEO Regional Centre for STEM Education (SEAMEO STEM-ED) in Bangkok and edited by Kritsachai Somsaman, Masami Isoda and Roberto Araya. Its stated aims are that children experience computational thinking both without and with computers. Chapters cover colouring-book activities such as Piano Playing and Dog Houses, mathematics classroom tasks including Tessellate! and Ladder Lottery, STEM activities such as Fire Emergency and Paper Plane, visible programming with Scratch, and designing a robot car with motors. An appendix discusses large language models and computational, mathematical and STEM thinking. Each activity is a task sequence: the core task can be printed as a worksheet for every child, while boxed notes tell teachers what each task is meant to teach. It can be read online and downloaded free of charge.
