This volume collects the ten best action research reports completed by Cohort 2 of the Bachelor of Education (12+4) student teachers at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College in the 2022–2023 academic year. Each study was carried out by a student teacher with a PTEC lecturer as co-author, in primary and lower secondary classrooms in Phnom Penh. The reports test classroom strategies against measured outcomes: lesson study with peer reflective observation in Grade 5 science; reading logs for Grade 6 reading comprehension; concept cartoons to elicit argumentation in Grade 6 science; positive non-verbal communication in Grade 7 mathematics; inquiry-based learning in Grade 8 chemistry; the scientific method and students' scientific attitude in Grade 8 biology; the Think-Pair-Share strategy in Grade 7 biology; and cooperative learning to improve mathematical discourse in Grade 8. Two further studies examine the attitudes of outstanding Grade 5 mathematics students at Sonthor Mork Primary School and strategies for building positive teacher–student relationships with Grade 7 students. The designs range from experimental and quasi-experimental studies analysed with paired t-tests and ANCOVA to qualitative studies using classroom observation and thematic analysis of interviews. Most report gains in achievement, participation or classroom interaction, and each closes with its limitations and recommendations for further research. Six reports are written in Khmer with an English abstract and four are written in English. Published by PTEC Library Press; editorial board led by Dr. LEK Chumnor. The research was supported by The Nippon Foundation.
